The Village of Ridgewood Public School system is comprised of nine public schools and one additional school facility, which houses a pre-school program and a private day care center. The village is home to one pre-school, Glen School, six elementary schools: Henrietta Hawes, Ira W. Travell, Irwin B. Somerville, Ridge, Orchard and Willard Elementary Schools; two middle schools, Benjamin Franklin and George Washington Middle Schools; and one high school, Ridgewood High School. The Holmstead School is also located in the Ridgewood. It is a private school that serves students between the ages of 13 and 18 who possess high intellectual potential and have been unable to achieve successfully in traditional school settings.
