This year, Braddock Park-named after a local boxing hero-has 6 new refurbished tennis courts. In addition to being fully functional, the new courts come with a new environmentally conscious attitude. Any used balls collected at the court will be refurbished and donated to local high schools. The tennis balls that are beyond repair will be donated to nursing homes and Veterans hospitals to be used on the bottoms of walkers and canes. The courts also have brand new blue containers for recycling and garbage as a friendly reminder to those who enjoy a game of tennis there to keep the courts clean and to recycle!
